#1: OMNIplus CHARGE
At Busworld 2025, the Daimler Buses service brand will introduce a new sub-brand called OMNIplus CHARGE. This new service adds yet another string to our bow as a comprehensive eMobility service provider. OMNIplus CHARGE comprises consulting services and services relating to the planning, construction and operation of electromobility and H₂ infrastructure. It also covers professional maintenance and repair by the brand's service technicians. With OMNIplus CHARGE, every customer is provided with a personal e‑mobility advisor who accompanies them from the initial consultation through the planning and construction phase to the turnkey handover of the charging infrastructure and the electric bus fleet.

#2: Over‑the‑Air updates
What has long been commonplace in smartphones is now also being used in buses: the wireless transfer and installation of system updates for vehicles at a specified time – available immediately and without having to visit a workshop. All this will be made possible by a new OMNIplus service that provides over-the-air updates. This feature will initially be introduced for the eIntouro and then made available for Mercedes-Benz and Setra-branded buses with new electronics architecture in the future. In addition to required security updates, general software updates and modified settings can also be easily installed in this way. Updates are controlled using the OMNIplus ON Portal.

#3: Battery monitoring
This digital service provides a comprehensive overview of the condition of high-voltage batteries in Mercedes‑Benz electric buses. It also provides recommendations for action that help to extend the service life of these sensitive components. The emergency call function is a new feature that will be introduced at Busworld 2025. Once the high-voltage battery in a fleet bus reaches a critical temperature, the fleet manager is automatically called with a warning and recommendation for action. This ensures that countermeasures are initiated immediately to prevent damage to the high-voltage battery. OMNIplus ON Battery Monitoring can be individually booked for each vehicle in the OMNIplus ON Portal.

#4: Tracking services plus
Fleet operators can define up to 25 speed zones using geofencing and assign them to Mercedes‑Benz and Setra-branded buses using OMNIplus ON monitor tracking services plus. Based on position data, the services automatically detect when vehicles enter a defined zone. Whenever a fleet bus enters the digitally designated area, the speed limiter function is automatically activated and the vehicle coasts gently until it has slowed to the set maximum speed. Unrestricted acceleration is available again after having left the designated area. In hazardous situations, the driver can manually override the limiter using a manual kickdown.

#5: Remote Control Functions
With OMNIplus ON Remote Control Functions, electric buses can be charged and preconditioned to the minute. In addition to classic preconditioning of the vehicle's interior temperature to improve its range, Remote Control Functions can also be used to limit the battery's maximum state of charge or set a time by which the battery must be fully charged. This digital service for electric bus fleets works independently of the charging infrastructure and does not require a data link to a charging station. All communication is handled by the vehicle's Bus Data Center. Totally practical: the tool can be easily integrated into existing fleet and charging management systems via the API interface.

#6: eShop and eProcurement
The OMNIplus eShop makes purchasing and ordering genuine parts noticeably easier. Things get even simpler with to the integration of OMNIplus eProcurement into customer-specific goods management systems, whereby spare parts for the stored fleet can be directly identified and ordered. OMNIplus will be showcasing improved functions for both services at Busworld 2025. This means that spare parts can now be selected and ordered not only at model designation level, but also specifically based on the vehicle identification number (VIN) of each individual vehicle. The newly designed product detail page will also be also introduced, now also showing the vehicles in the stored fleet that are compatible with the spare part – promoting an even clearer overview in spare parts management and quick identification of the correct spare parts.
