System design

A simulation model specifically designed for eBuses checks the energy requirements of all existing routes as part of a feasibility study. It determines the state of charge throughout the day and suggests any necessary charging breaks. Suitable bus routes will be optimised for electric buses.
The system design comprises the layout of the depot as a whole, along with the charging infrastructure. This includes the calculation of the required electrical power or energy quantity. Charging infrastructure
We support you with tailor-made charging infrastructure solutions from well-known European charging system manufacturers.
The optimum operating concept for an electrically driven bus depends greatly on specific operating conditions. Our e-mobility consultants analyse the local conditions to identify the most suitable charging infrastructure: whether it be plug-in charging at the depot or a combination with pantographs over the course of the route. charging management
With our charging and depot management solutions, you have an overview of all charging processes at all times and can significantly reduce your electricity costs.
With professional charging management, you can optimise the charging capacity of the entire fleet so that your buses are charged and preconditioned in good time with a controlled total output. Cost-intensive network load peaks can thus be reduced and electricity can be purchased in the most favourable price window. The charging plans are automatically created within the specified load windows and the preconditioning of the vehicles is also controlled centrally in order to ensure the maximum range of the buses. For this purpose, we offer clear charging management solutions for small fleets, but can also optimally control large electric bus fleets with integrated electric depot management solutions and assign routes as well as parking spaces with pinpoint accuracy.

Construction work and electric installations

Transformer
We will advise you on the individual selection of the right transformer for your depot.
In order to be able to supply a fleet of battery-powered buses with energy, the energy from the medium-voltage grid (generally 6 kV – 60 kV) generally needs to be reduced to a voltage level of 400V AC. Depending on the requirements and space available in the vehicle depot, this can be done with a compact transformer or, in the case of large fleets, with a walk-in transformer station.

Battery storage
We give used bus batteries a second life.
A stationary energy storage system constructed from used electric bus batteries can significantly extend their life cycle and further increase the sustainability of your electric bus fleet. In combination with an intelligent charging and energy management system, you can also reduce power peaks and thereby reduce electricity costs. Further optimisation potential arises in conjunction with a photovoltaic system that stores the renewable energy during the day, which you can then use to charge the buses at night.

*"CO2e" indicates the carbon dioxide equivalent and refers to the total amount of greenhouse gases released by a specific activity or process. It not only takes into account carbon dioxide, but also other greenhouse gases such as methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O) and ozone (O3) by correlating their climate impact to CO2. Since these gases have different impacts on the climate, CO2e enables a holistic analysis of the climate impact of a particular activity.
Hydrogen infrastructure
We support you with tailored infrastructure solutions for an operational hydrogen supply.
The optimum operating concept for an alternatively driven bus depends greatly on the respective operating conditions. Our Mercedes-Benz eCitaro fuel cell buses have a hydrogen (H2) fuel cell on board to extend their range, in addition to the batteries. Our eMobility consultants derive the required hydrogen quantities and analyse the local conditions to determine the best refuelling infrastructure.
They analyse whether a hydrogen filling station in the vicinity would be suitable or whether it would make more sense to set one up at your own depot. As part of this, we work with a skilled and reliable partner: H2 MOBILITY. The company operates an already large and constantly growing network of public hydrogen filling stations. In addition, the H2 experts can assist with the installation of hydrogen pumps at depots or in the immediate vicinity, if necessary. Depending on the contract, no investment costs are incurred - as a customer, you simply pay for the amount of hydrogen consumed.

OMNIplus ON offers you a wide range of digital services – thereby ensuring maximum vehicle availability and cost-effectiveness, such as OMNIplus ON Uptime Pro with remote diagnosis. Consequently, you can keep an eye on the condition of your vehicles at all times and thus optimise service planning. With OMNIplus ON monitor, you also have the option of monitoring the state of charge and remaining range of your vehicles as well as analysing their energy consumption – for example also for the new Mercedes-Benz eCitaro fuel cell. In addition, virtual OMNIplus ON interfaces enable simple data integration into your own fleet or depot management systems. The ITxPT TiGR data package provides a homogeneous database for the entire fleet, simplifying your vehicle analyses. And by the way, all vehicle data is provided in real time and, on request, also in raw format. Data is always provided legally compliant and in line with UN Regulation R155, which addresses the cyber security of vehicles. In addition, with the data packages, you can fully integrate data into your own fleet management or depot management system.

Charging as a service

With charging as a service, you get full charging infrastructure at your own depot - planned, built and operated by Daimler Buses. The service facilitates the switch to electric mobility - without any capital tie-up. You only pay an agreed fee per kilowatt hour charged, meaning
you get to benefit from predictable operating costs, minimal hassle and technical security of supply. Maintenance and service are carried out by OMNIplus specialist personnel. Optionally, you can generate additional revenue with the infrastructure by enabling additional customers to use it.
