OMNIplus CHARGE checks stop points, speed profiles and route heights of each line in a specially developed simulation model and uses this to calculate the fleet’s actual energy requirements. The system design for the entire depot, including the charging infrastructure and the required power supply equipment, is created on the basis of specific data. The complex switch to electric driving thus becomes a clearly calculable and transparent project.

From tender to commissioning

Transformers, charging points, pantograph bridges, rechargeable batteries: each component must fit the respective depot. The e-mobility consultants from OMNIplus CHARGE take over the tendering and procurement of the right technology, select experienced partners for charging infrastructure, power supply equipment and construction work and accompany the project until acceptance. Central project management manages the coordination and execution of each step so that fleet operators can focus fully on their core business. Upon request, Daimler Buses takes on the role of general contractor and delivers the complete system solution easily from a single source.

Intelligent charging, noticeably cheaper

Professional charging control intelligently distributes the charging power of the entire fleet and keeps electricity purchases within the most favourable price window. Automatically created charging schedules ensure that every bus starts charged and preconditioned on time, while expensive load peaks can be avoided in a targeted manner. A clear software solution is sufficient for small fleets, while large electric bus fleets are controlled by integrated depot management right up to the assignment of parking spaces and blocks. The result: full range at predictable energy costs.

The capital-saving entrance to eMobility

Charging-as-a-Service makes the entrance to electric driving not only noticeably easier, but above all plannable. This is because Daimler Buses plans, builds and operates the entire system at the fleet operator’s depot - without any investment in the integration of power supply equipment. The customer only pays an agreed fee per kilowatt hour charged. Maintenance and service are also provided by OMNIplus, including security of supply. The resulting infrastructure can also be made available to other customers to generate additional revenue.

If a fault cannot be resolved by remote maintenance, the OMNIplus CHARGE service team is on site.

Even after commissioning at the customer’s side

On request, OMNIplus CHARGE can also provide reliable service after commissioning: a 24/7 service hotline with remote support solves around 85 percent of all malfunctions directly from a distance. In the other cases, a dedicated service team is deployed with direct access to the results of the remote diagnosis. A single point of contact remains responsible for the entire charging infrastructure - customers avoid queries from several manufacturers and the effort of coordinating several service providers. This means that the power supply equipment remains ready for use around the clock.

Public charging, even outside the depot

At high-traffic locations such as central bus stations or tourist objectives, OMNIplus CHARGE builds and operates publicly accessible fast charging points that can be used with up to 600 kW of performance regardless of the brand. Municipalities and landowners do not have to make their own investments: planning, construction, operation and maintenance are entirely the responsibility of Daimler Buses. This means that electric buses can also be used in future on routes that were previously outside their range.
