Winter Training Experience
Intensive OMNIplus training on ice and snow in winter in Lapland
How does it drive on an icy carriageway? How does the braking distance change on an icy surface? How do I have to adapt my driving style behind the wheel in ice and snow? During the two-day OMNIplus Training Experience in Lapland, participants learn how Mercedes‑Benz and Setra buses and coaches perform in extreme situations on ice and snow. The ideal preparation for the cold months.
Face the elements with confidence
We go to Lapland in the winter time to prepare ice surfaces of a frozen lake, in order to create scenarios that train your drivers in handling Mercedes‑Benz and Setra buses and coaches in extreme winter situations. The participants practice controlled drifting and the correct manoeuvres to avoid obstacles on a slippery carriageway without skidding, among other skills. This demanding, practical driving training course helps your drivers get more used to the vehicles' handling characteristics in extreme situations and enables them to build up a wealth of expertise – so that they can react safely and confidently in everyday life or in an emergency - even on snow and ice.
Using assistance systems
At the OMNIplus Winter Training Experience, participants get exclusive insights into the technology used in the high-tech buses and coaches from Mercedes‑Benz and Setra, and experience in practice how they can unlock the full potential of the safety and assistance systems in their everyday work. On snow and ice, the automatic safety systems ESP (Electronic Stability Program), ASR (Automatic Traction Control) and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) become particularly important. During the training in Lapland, the participants get to experience the systems being put to full use, and driving the buses and coaches while the safety systems are intervening becomes second nature.
Experience Lapland
Drivers and operators with a valid driver’s licence can look forward to a varied programme of experiences - including an adrenaline kick! The training is also aimed at employees in the fleet and driving instructors, as well as employees in the workshop and all other interested employees. You are all welcome to take part in the OMNIplus Winter Training Experience. During a snowmobile ride and lunch in a lodge by the lake, participants discover the fantastic winter world of Lapland. A dinner with local Swedish specialities and an atmospheric winners’ ceremony round off the Scandinavian experience.
