Recycling high-voltage batteries with the aim of recovering raw materials

Daimler Buses works with experienced recycling companies. The objective is to efficiently recycle the raw materials at the end of the battery’s service life and thus make an important contribution to the circular economy. Sustainability plays a central role here: Due to the increasing importance of ecological responsibility and developments on the market, recycling of every high-voltage battery is firmly planned from the outset - regardless of the cell chemistry used.

Second chance for valuable raw materials
In addition to reducing waste, the focus is primarily on the reuse of the recovered raw materials. This allows valuable materials to be reintroduced into the production cycle, which saves resources and reduces the burden on the environment.

Modern technologies for sustainable recycling
Modern and efficient processes, including hydrometallurgy, are used in the recycling process. These methods make it possible to recover as much of the raw materials as possible and to advance the further development of recycling technologies. In doing so, we are making a decisive contribution to achieving the objectives of a sustainable circular economy and the future of eMobility.
