"Single malt” and "blend” are common terms in whisky-making. A single malt is from a single distillery while a blend is a mix of different whiskies, allowing a consistent quality to be achieved at all times. The blended learning provision from OMNIplus is also a high-quality mixture. This consists of a digital component in the form of e-learning and a virtual classroom and a practical component made up of face-to-face training.
Flexible training, wherever you are.
In its digital learning range, OMNIplus has already successfully made use of the advantages of e-learning and virtual classrooms. The pandemic helped further push digital learning to the fore. And with blended learning, OMNIplus provides a concept of high-quality and technically demanding training sessions combining the advantages of digital teaching and practical work. Together these make a comprehensive training programme that ensures learning is more interesting, appealing and attractive to all participants. The e-learning sessions are planned individually and can be completed at whatever time or date, so that employees can receive training whenever and wherever they are. In face-to-face training, the knowledge gained online can be used in practice and the corresponding technical skills transmitted.

The best of two worlds.
The advantages of mixing two forms of learning are clear. E-training and virtual classrooms allow for flexible learning. Through short learning sequences, spread over several days, learning is markedly improved – as previous experience has shown. This method refreshes knowledge thereby ensuring it is more deeply ingrained. Through learning on demand, there is also the option of recalling knowledge whenever needed. Not least, digital learning also reduces the need for travel, and thus costs. Through real-life training, participants can extend and shore up their theoretical knowledge by gaining practical skills. Not to mention the valuable exchange of knowledge with other participants.
Blended learning in five fields of competence.
This year, OMNIplus is offering five training sessions as blended learning in various fields of competence: driver assistance systems; electrical braking systems; MUX electronics; doors/central locking of coaches and intercity buses and heating/ventilation/air-conditioning (HVAC) for Mercedes-Benz city buses with a CO₂ air-conditioner or heat pump. The HVAC training also includes familiarisation with the automatic temperature controls. Workshop employees are shown how to detect and eliminate defects and carry out maintenance, adjustment and repair works. In addition, participants can get to know workshop equipment and special tools and be taught how to run through system diagnosis independently.
Learning in a virtual environment.
The blended learning programme is expanding at all times to cover new fields of expertise. And the concept is also constantly being developed. Thus, OMNIplus has already taken steps towards providing learning in a virtual environment. For example, 3D data is already being incorporated in the training sessions. In this way it becomes possible to show participants the details of parts that need to be incorporated in vehicles even if they cannot physically see them. The design of individual components and their mode of functioning can also be made clear, markedly improving the learning results and level of success.
