Disinfect contact surfaces without damage

The wrong cleaning products can damage surfaces.

Hygiene measures in buses are more important than ever. At the moment, special attention is being paid to the regular cleaning of surfaces, handles and rails within the vehicle. But take care: always use cleaning products that achieve the intended purpose without having any undesirable side-effects. The following table gives an overview of anti-viral components that may damage materials used in the bus or coach interior. OMNIplus recommends you avoid them.

We recommend you avoid the following substances: Potential consequences of the use of these substances:
Products containing components based on active oxygen (e.g. ozone or hydrogen peroxide). Use can lead, among other things, to fading, corrosion and premature ageing in seals and plastics.
Products containing nanoparticles, in particular nano titanium dioxide (nano TiO2). Nano TiO2 is a suspected carcinogen. Use can also cause unknown damage to the health of vehicle occupants.
Products containing halogens, active chlorine and chlorinated components. Use can lead to discolouration, fading, corrosion and premature ageing in seals and plastics.
Products containing heavy metals and their salts. Use can lead to damage to the health of bus or coach occupants and to chemical burns. In addition, the use of such products can cause corrosion.
Products containing controlled substances. Use can lead to damage to health and the environment.
Note: Some of the classes of substances may also be prohibited under the EU REACH Guideline.

Our tip: read the information on the packaging and compare it with the table. Ask your OMNIplus Service Point about suitable disinfectants for contact surfaces in the bus/coach interior, that offer effective protection while also being gentle on the materials.
